Superior Skydiving. A PchaKucha response
 By Kacie Potts.

A woman by thee name of Lyn Langlais had always wanted to skydive. She quickly fell in love with the sport right away. I guess you could say it was love at first jump. This presenter is extremely passionate about the sport of Skydiving. She has jumped a great deal of  times.

I like how passionate he is about the sport, but I already said that. I like how she has a deeper story that is personal to her. she makes the story very interesting by adding pictures of her personally Skydiving. I do think she could have added more facts about the sport it may make the presentation more interesting. The presentation as a whole was very nice I enjoyed hearing her story about the sport of Skydiving.

Face to Face Response

My response to the way we as Americans treated the Muslims after the terror attacks on September 11, 2001 and the treatment toward Japanese Americans after the bombing on Pearl Harbor was  horrible " Get off my porch you dirty jap!" one woman screamed at a young Japanese woman named Satsuki Ina. This gave Satsuki nightmares and it might just give me some nightmares as well. I am just outraged by the fact that American who are supposed to stand for equality for all and is not standing by that. I feel in order to have a snowballs chance in hell at ending racism we as people need to understand that we fear what we do not understand everyone needs to take the time to understand the point of view of others even if we don't agree with their opinions. We need to understand that not all Muslims or Japanese people are bad every race, religion and country all have bad people who want to cause harm it does not matter if you are Caucasian, African American, Muslim, Spanish or Asian every single race on earth has bad people who do not want to do any sort of good for their nation. To judge a group in its entirety based on the decisions and actions of a small percentage of the people of the group make is a good way to show just how ignorant some people can be.

Hunger Games
By Suzanne Collins

Recently I have re read one of my favorite books it is the first book  I a wonderful trilogy. The Hunger Games is about a futuristic society in which there are 12 districts that are forced to put all the names of the children eight through 18 years old into a drawing. From the drawing two names are drawn for each district one boy and one girl. These children then become tributes in the Hunger Games a yearly competition to the death that is not over until one lone tribute the Victor is crowned the winner. Katniss Everdeen flips the games on heir head in this book, and I enjoyed every singe page of the book.

This book made me wonder what it would be like to compete in a battle to the death? Would I win? Would I have any allies? What will the arena be made of? My brain flew right into a million and one questions, So I decided to take a trip into my imagination and here is what I found. It was me Boots on hair frizzed and messed up matted into knots that I might never get undone. I herd a noise and turned knife in my hand ready for anything and luckily I had my knife ready the gigantic creature with snarling teeth lunges toward me. I let it take me to the ground and right as it tries to pounce on my I stab it in the chest hearing the ribs crush under the pressure of my knife. Pulling my knife up out off its chest I clean off the blood on my jacket. Then the illusion was gone I was back to my normal reality of school and homework. It would be such a cool experience to live through that traumatic of an event.

this quote that comes from the movie I believe  doesn't really have anything to do with the above story it made me think of myself. " You have about as much charm as a dead slug"
This picture is from the movie and Katniss is about to start the Hunger Games. She is nervous and scared, but who could blame her.

Sea
Heidi Kling

First off Let me start this off by saying this is probably not a book I need to be reading before  I am about to get on a plane and fly to San Diego California. This book is about a girl who has sadly lost her mother in a plane crash well the plane didn't really crash it just vanished. As a result of what happened to her mother the main character Sienna I terrified  to get any where near a plane.
" Dad!" I yelled. "Didn't you feel those bumps? Buckle your seat belt!"
"Its okay. It was just a bit of turbulence; It's already stopped" I
I plopped down into my seat as fast ass I could and buckled up,
Tugging the belt across my lap.

This was her reaction when the plane hit turbulence. I really am nervous about flying on a plane this October! Maybe that Is why I chose the book to read I like to read things that I can relate to in any sort of way. I am very nervous to meet new people just like Sienna is but she dose what she thinks is right which is why she took a trip to Indonesia.

I haven't read much of this book, but I have a feeling it is going to be one that I will love. It seems very sappy and mushy! My kind of book.

I like the writers she really tries to tell the story in a unique way by putting the events in their own little chapters. Heidi Kling has created a book that reads very easily from page to page and I never want to put the book down. I love and can relate to the main character Sienna In many ways so far.

Sienna's mother disappeared a long with the rest of the flight over the ocean.

What Is Normal?

While Reading the book Something Like Normal by Trish Doller it made me wonder, What is normal exactly? I think every person as an individual has their own definition and by extension their own personal normal. my normal is going through the same mundane activities I have been for 12 long years of school. I wake up, get dressed, brush my teeth, put my face on, get my butt to the bus stop and take a long noise filled ride to school. I go into the building and repeat the same thing class by class by class. obeying the bell ring by ring! then finally at the end of a long and rather boring day I get to get back on the noise filled bus and take the 30 minuet ride home. I tend to complained about how boring my life is but it is pretty exiting. I can relate to the main character Travis in that way.

Although this book was based on a fictional story it really showed the struggle that American Veterans face on their return home, while Travis was away in Afghanistan his girlfriend cheated on him. That however is not the saddest thing that happened to him. his best friend Charlie was shot in action by a member of the Taliban while on a routine mission. When Travis got back home he found out his father had an affair, his brother stole his girlfriend and he is haunted by nightmares of Charlie and Afghanistan. Travis can hardly sleep, but then he meet Harper and they fall in love which is a very sappy girly part of the book which I loved!

This book also made me realize just how thankful I am for people like Travis. If it weren't for them our country would not be the same as it is today!

I am very lucky to have men like this in my life and I am proud to know them. My boyfriend Cory is in the United States Marine Corps and his grandfather was in the Marines ass well. My Great Grad Father Pappy! was a fighter pilot in WWII. Thank you Grand Pa Thank you!! To you all!
