The book I have been reading lately is one my boyfriend Cory Meyer a PFC in the United States Marine Corps. This book is about a Marine Corps sniper named Carlos Hathcock. I have read about his life about how he was poor as a child then he joined the Marines. He became a Sargent and met his wife Jo who as a bank teller and they had a baby boy. This book takes place during the time of the Vietnam War. I haven't read too much of the book, but I can tell I am going to love it. Sometimes when I am reading it, I get sad and I can relate to his wife Jo she gets sad when Carlos has to leave and I can't blame her. I remember when Cory had to leave for Boot Camp I cried so much and I was sad, but I was so proud of him for becoming a Marine. It is never easy to say good bye to him. I love this boy so much! He makes me so happy. I am truly the luckiest girl ever!

Response for January 27, 2015.

By far my favorite project was the one by Chelsea Donovan about eating disorders because it is something that I apparently have. well, I am going to set the rumor straight I do not have an eating disorder. I eat when I am hungry. I stop eating when I am full. I have no control if I gain the weight or not I never have had any control. I used to make my self eat so much that I would get sick, and for what? to please a bunch of people who don't even matter. I no longer care what people think of my body. My body is mine and I love it the way it is. I wouldn't change a thing.(unless I could have bigger boobs. I would love bigger boobs.)

For quite sometime now, I have known my passion in life. My passion in life is protecting people children in particular I want to stop child abuse as you may have read in my previous autobiography we wrote in first semester I talked about my past and my experience of being abused physically by my mothers ex-boyfriend. I have always wanted to help kids who were in a situation like mine. I want to let them know that they are not alone, but mostly I want to put an end to child abuse. I would like to start going to elementary schools and talking to the children who the administrators think might be abused at home. All types of child abuse are horrible it makes no difference if the abuse is mental or physical abuse is abuse and it must be stopped I would do what ever it takes to help a child who has been abused because I have been in their shoes. I know what its like to not have someone believe you.

Children are resilient they are some of the toughest humans I know and I think that given the right tools they can be so much more than what they are told they can be.

Child abuse is a big problem in all parts of the country and the world it doesn't matter where you are many children get abused and neglected.

I know I may have gotten off topic on this, but I hope you enjoy it.

Reading Response 2
By Kacie Potts

Many times as a child I knew the feeling of hunger opening the cabinets to find nothing in there and I mean nothing. when I see companies like the Good Spread Peanut Butter company which gives a package of peanut butter to a person in need for every package sold. If you would like to know more about the Good Spread company then click Here to find out more. A TON of food is wasted every year. the solution is simple when a large manufacturing company has produced too much of a product why not give it away to a food bank rather than throw it away. There is a new thing going around you may have even seen a meme about it on Facebook and thought this can't be true, but it is. I'm talking about the suspended coffee. What's a "suspended coffee?" you ask well when you go to your favorite coffee house and order a cup of coffee or a pastry order a second and have it suspended this suspended cup of coffee is a good way to give back to the people who would otherwise do without. Companies like these are the ones people should use because they give back to the world.

Article One Response
By. Kacie Potts

Guys I have a problem. A problem with "Bad Verbs" I need to get help. after reading the article I defiantly found out that I use many verbs in the wrong way. For example, before I read the article I was more than guilty of using many verbs in the wrong way. I often will use lay rather than laid, lie rather than lay and in true Missourian fashion I seen something rather than saw something.
The article was very helpful to me. It helped me fix some of my most common grammar mistakes I feel like this article is going to help me become a more fluent writer. I plan to use these rules in my future writing in this class. I however do not see the point in reading the article. I guess I just learn better by seeing the rules in practice not with just reading.

Superior Skydiving. A PchaKucha response
 By Kacie Potts.

A woman by thee name of Lyn Langlais had always wanted to skydive. She quickly fell in love with the sport right away. I guess you could say it was love at first jump. This presenter is extremely passionate about the sport of Skydiving. She has jumped a great deal of  times.

I like how passionate he is about the sport, but I already said that. I like how she has a deeper story that is personal to her. she makes the story very interesting by adding pictures of her personally Skydiving. I do think she could have added more facts about the sport it may make the presentation more interesting. The presentation as a whole was very nice I enjoyed hearing her story about the sport of Skydiving.

Face to Face Response

My response to the way we as Americans treated the Muslims after the terror attacks on September 11, 2001 and the treatment toward Japanese Americans after the bombing on Pearl Harbor was  horrible " Get off my porch you dirty jap!" one woman screamed at a young Japanese woman named Satsuki Ina. This gave Satsuki nightmares and it might just give me some nightmares as well. I am just outraged by the fact that American who are supposed to stand for equality for all and is not standing by that. I feel in order to have a snowballs chance in hell at ending racism we as people need to understand that we fear what we do not understand everyone needs to take the time to understand the point of view of others even if we don't agree with their opinions. We need to understand that not all Muslims or Japanese people are bad every race, religion and country all have bad people who want to cause harm it does not matter if you are Caucasian, African American, Muslim, Spanish or Asian every single race on earth has bad people who do not want to do any sort of good for their nation. To judge a group in its entirety based on the decisions and actions of a small percentage of the people of the group make is a good way to show just how ignorant some people can be.
